The Tyranny of Democracy: On the dangers of democracy and political rhetoric

vrijdag 29 november 2019

During this meeting we will discuss Plato's analysis of democracy and in particular focus on the mechanism that is in play when political rhetoric thrives in a state where both politician and the people are led by a hedonistic outlook. Plato's analysis is sharp and strikingly apt to describe some tendencies that we see in our democracy today.
